Law Enforcement Polar Bear Plunge & Super Plunge

 It is considered a ritual, a rite of passage and even and institution. It is not just an event it is an experience. It is the Polar Bear Plunge! The 13th Annual Law Enforcement Polar Bear Plunge (LETR) will take place on Saturday, February 21, 2009 in Geneva State Park. The LETR plunge was the founding plunge for Special Olympics Ohio and this event alone has generated over $1.1. million for our organization over the past twelve years. Help us reach our goal of raising $300,000 across the state in 2009 by participating in the Polar Bear Plunge.
 For all Plunge participants there is a charged atmosphere of anticipation that only adds to the chills and thrills of participating in the Lucky Number 13 Plunge. The build up is intense and the anticipation is half the fun. So when the countdown ends after months of mental preparation and dedicated fundraising, you will get caught up in a wave of excitement and a rush that drives you right into the frigid water of Lake Erie!
All activities and events for the LETR Plunge will be held at The Lodge and Conference Center at Geneva State Park. Plungers are asked to raise a minimum of $100 to participate. To commemorate our 13th year we will host a Grand Costume Party at the Post Plunge Banquet on Saturday night. Come in your most creative and unique costume as prizes will be awarded. Super Plunge
The 2nd Annual Super Plunge will also be held in conjunction with the LETR Plunge. Super Plungers are required to raise a minimum of $2,500 and will jump in once an hour for ten hours in a row. The Super Plunge is a unique experience for an elite group of plungers who can handle the challenge. Super Plungers will receive a special prize package in exchange for their extra efforts. Super Plungers must register online by February 5, 2009 to be eligible to participate.

Harley Davidson Raffle
We will be drawing the winning ticket for the 2009 Harley Davidson Road King Classic and Enclosed Trailer at the LETR Plunge. The drawing will take place at 1:30 p.m. at Breakwater Beach. Tickets may be purchased for a $10 donation to Special Olympics now until the tickets are sold out (maximum of 5,000 sold). Hotel Information
Hotel accommodations are available at the Geneva-on-the-Lake Conference Center. Plungers are responsible for making their own hotel arrangements. Reservations can be made by calling the lodge at 1-440-466-7100 and specifying that you are with the Polar Bear Plunge.
